শান্তিনিকেতনের একাল সেকাল/ Shantiniketan - Echoes of Time

১৯০১ সালে, রবীন্দ্রনাথ ঠাকুর, তাঁর পুত্র রথীন্দ্রনাথ ঠাকুর সহ পাঁচজন ছাত্র নিয়ে এবং পাঁচজন শিক্ষক নিয়ে একটা স্কুল প্রতিষ্ঠা করেন, প্রাচীন অরণ্য আশ্রমের ঐতিহ্য অনুসারে তিনি এই স্কুলের নামকরণ করেছিলেন ব্রহ্মচর্য আশ্রম। ১৯২১ সালে গ্রামোন্নয়নের জন্য শ্রীনিকেতন নামে একটি সংস্থা প্রতিষ্ঠার পাশাপাশি সময়ে এখানেই তিনি গড়ে তুললেন বিশ্বভারতী। আম জাম তেঁতুলে ঢাকা সাঁওতাল পাড়া, আর তার বিস্তৃত সবুজ শাড়ির প্রান্তে লাল পাড়ের মতো লাল মেঠো পথ ঘিরে শান্তিনিকেতন। আদর্শ প্রাকৃতিক পরিবেশে শিশুদের বেড়ে ওঠা, পরিবর্তনশীল ভারতে শহর ও গ্রামের মধ্যে ভারসাম্য বজায় রেখে শিক্ষা দান এবং জাতীয় অন্ধ স্বদেশপ্রেমের কুণ্ডলী থেকে বিশ্বকে মুক্ত করা' - রবীন্দ্রভাবনায় সেকালের সেই শান্তিনিকেতন আজকের এই কোলাহল, রাজনৈতিক অস্থিরতা আর নানাবিধ সামাজিক, সাংস্কৃতিক ও অর্থনৈতিক কর্মকাণ্ডের সাথে তাল মেলিয়ে দেখতে কেমন এবং অর্থনৈতিক বিপণের এই আধুনিক যুগে আগামী শান্তিনিকেতন দেখতে কেমন হবে, এই সব আলোচনা নিয়েই আমাদের ছবি ‘শান্তিনিকেতনের একাল সেকাল'। In 1901, Rabindranath Tagore, together with his son Rathindranath and a handful of five students and five teachers, founded a school a humble beginning inspired by the ancient forest hermitage tradition. He named it Brahmacharya Ashram. Two decades later, in 1921, alongside the establishment of Sriniketan for rural reconstruction, he laid the foundation of Visva-Bharati. Shantiniketan, surrounded by clusters of mango and tamarind trees, by Santhal villages, and by red earth paths like crimson borders on a green sari, became the living expression of his ideals. Tagore envisioned an education rooted in nature, fostering the balanced growth of children while harmonising city and village life in a changing India freeing minds from the narrow confines of blind nationalism toward a universal human spirit. "Shantiniketan: Echoes of Time" examines how Tagore’s ideals of balance between nature, learning, and humanity confront the realities of contemporary Shantiniketan, its political, social, and cultural shifts and questions how this living legacy can adapt to the pressures of modernity and the demands of a globalised economy.
