“Etoile de la SCAM” winning Filmmaker, Producer, Screenwriter and Poet, Bangladesh origin Amirul Arham living in Paris from 1985. After an appreciation cinema studies from Dhaka Film Archive and Institute, Arham studied film direction under Jean Rouch, the most famous ethnographic filmmaker and a pioneer of Cinéma Vérité. Arham realized a number of documentaries. Among his works, “Social Business" a coproduction with Public Senate Television, A banker for the poor" (the first feature documentary on Nobel Laureate Prof.Muhammad Yunus, (Canal+ European Television Network), The Devil’s Water, coproduced with France 5 and France 3 Televisions, "The lost souls of Bangladesh " diffused in France 2 and European TV’s, and “Shamsur Rahman: A Pen against the Gun” (90 min) were nominated and rewarded from Reunion Film festival. "Social Business : the visible hand of the market ?" (90min) released in Ferme du Buisson. His films were selected to many international festivals and awarded including the First Prize from Terra Film Festival and Niamey film festival. He currently developing a feature documentary “ A Poverty Free World” and a feature fiction “Prattabartan”. Amirul Arham published a collection of his poems from Dhaka, in 1998 “The drenching in the rain” and "The shadow of the sea in your eyes" bilingual poetry Bengali-French published in 2013 from Paalam Publications, France-India. The selected poems of Shamsur Rahman was edited and translated in French in 2000, when he invited Poet Shamsur Rahman to participate in a cultural week of Bangladesh in Paris and Noisiel.
