Gen-Z Bangladesh
In July 2024, students in Bangladesh began a peaceful march against the government's reinstatement of quota reforms in public administration recruitment. After the Prime Minister insulted them as 'collaborators', the movement spread nationwide. Backed by the government, the student league and police began suppressing the protests. People from all walks of life joined the students. In response, the government used the army and police to fire on protesters, killing thousands and injuring many. On August 5, amid the nationwide movement, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina fled to India, and Nobel laureate Muhammad Yunus became interim chief advisor. Across the city, murals reflected the student's dreams for freedom and reform.
